To Whom It May Concern:   I am writing to enthusiastically support Bradley Young’s job application. I had the honor of working with Bradley during his tenure in the nursing program at Brigham Young University – Idaho. I find him to be personable, mature, bright and full of energy.

Bradley has a brilliant mind and excellent work ethic. He is very well rounded in his talents and abilities. He is an excellent teacher and tutor to his peers, a gifted musician, fluent in Russian, and has a vast understand of pathophysiology and pharmacology that is unmatched with other nursing students. He will thrive in any circumstance he is placed in.

All in all, Bradley Young is an outstanding individual. His organizational and analytical skills are excellent. I have never seen him give anything other than 110% to all tasks and projects assigned. He is reliable under any circumstance. He is honest and possesses a strong sense of integrity. His ability to conduct himself in difficult situations is admirable.

I sincerely hope you will hire Bradley.

Sincerely,

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Bradley Young. I have had the opportunity to observe and work with Bradley as a biology tutor for two years.

A tutor’s job is to help students come to understand the material and be able to apply it. This requires careful guidance and listening strategies. Not all students are created equal and Bradley has learned to adapt to the students’ needs and help them on their level. Part of his responsibility included group tutoring sessions. Sometimes this is difficult with peers. However, Bradley successfully led group tutor sessions, earning the respect of his peers while making sure that all students were participating and learning.

I have watched Bradley search for multiple ways to help a student understand a concept. Bradley often had the students working at the whiteboards, helping them understand a difficult concept. When the student got stuck, Bradley would ask questions in a variety of ways until the student could see the next step or process. Because of Bradley’s extensive knowledge, he was able to tutor students in many different majors, and his dynamic personality helps him converse with students and relate to the challenges these students face in biology courses.

It is important to note that Bradley is a motivated individual and much of his work as a tutor was completed without supervision. He was expected to be to work on time for his appointments and record his time and post his schedule. Bradley did this each week, and I never had to reprimand him for not doing all the aspects of his job. He approached his job very professionally. Additionally, tutors are expected to be model students at all times, especially in their own course work. Bradley is a dedicated student outside of his job and sets an example for other students on how to be academically successful. Because Bradley knows how to study, he has progressed in his academic coursework, he has taken on tutoring more of the advanced courses.

Bradley is the rare kind of student who does his own work, yet knows how to work with others; he recognizes his weaknesses and tries to learn to overcome them; he learns what he needs to be able to teach others, and is still open-minded enough to be teachable. Bradley is a student who not only knows how to learn, but also knows how to disseminate that knowledge for others. Beyond academics, Bradley is a man of character and integrity.  I have no doubt that Bradley will be successful in all that he does and an asset to your program.

Sincerely,
